Lilla LoCurto & Bill Outcault: Much Madness is divinest Sense

Artist team Lilla LoCurto and Bill Outcault explore issues relating to the human body, its physical and psychological vulnerability and cultural identity, using advanced technologies. They frequently collaborate with mathematicians, physicists, cartographers, computer scientists, and others to create their work. Among the technologies they employ are computer graphics, three and four-dimensional scanning, and motion capture to uncover new ways of imaging the body and human movement. A selection of recent photographs, drawings, video animations and installations, and an interactive, life-sized marionette that responds to and interacts with the visitor will be on view. The marionette is featured thematically throughout the exhibition, allowing the artists to abstract human characteristics in ways that are fascinating, yet unnerving and uncanny. Mental disturbance, anguish, and distress are persistent themes in their new work.
