Lecture: THE ROMAN EMPIRE LEGACY TO THE WORLD

The Roman Empire was one of the greatest civilizations in history. It began in Rome in 753 BC., at the height of its power it controlled over two million square miles stretching from the Rhine River to Egypt and from Britain to Asia Minor. During this session Professor Louis Leonini will analyze what is Italy’s Roman heritage. How did this heritage influence the Renaissance, the Italian unification, and modern Italian history? What do we, in the western world of civilization, owe to Rome?
