Lecture: Hart Island Project and Exhibition

Melinda Hunt, founder of the Hart Island Project will lead a discussion. In addition there will be a film of the Project.
Part 2 of a 2-part series.

Hart Island, located near Westchester County, has served as a potter’s field for those who died in NYC and environs since the American Civil War with over 850,000 people buried there. It is a cemetery for the city’s anonymous, forgotten and indigent.
The Project’s mission, founded by Melinda Hunt, is to make the largest tax-funded cemetery in the U.S. visible and accessible so that no one is omitted from history.
