KRESS FAMILY LEGACY AT ROCK HILL ESTATE IN NEW CASTLE

Steve Worthy, freelance writer and historian, will deliver a multimedia presentation on Samuel Kress and the Kress Foundation.

Samuel Kress, owner of the 5 & 10 cent stores, started a series of unprecedented programs to share the artistic legacy of Europe with the American people. He had one of the most significant private collections of Old Masters ever assembled. His 72 acre-home, Rock Hill estate, located in the towns of New Castle and Ossining, is the site where some of the art restoration of the Old Masters and Baroque paintings took place.
