Kaya Nicole & Samba Soul

This performance kicks off ‘Made in Westchester,’ the Emelin’s new series celebrating the incredible talent of artists from Westchester.

A gifted vocalist, songwriter and classical guitarist with a robust mezzo soprano range and rhythmic vocal style, Kaya Nicole is often compared to Esperanza Spalding (with a dash of funk), Gal Costa or Carmen Miranda. Come hear the New Rochelle native and her band ‘Samba Soul’ perform Bossa Nova and Samba classics from the 60’s and 70’s, as well as original Neo-soul, Jazz, Blues and Samba Funk compositions.
