Jitterbugs Winter Series: New Orleans Jazz – Six Week Program
Announcing our new Jitterbugs Winter Series, a six week Jazz program with the theme New Orleans Jazz!
The program will be based on playful interactive activities, encouraging the children to participate and learn about Jazz. Each class will be unique and include fun instructions on how to prepare at-home craft projects.
During these interactive classes, we explore the culture, history, and sounds of New Orleans that led to the birth of jazz music. Kids will learn about important musical concepts and innovative artists who paved the way for jazz to flourish and continue to develop as a unique art form to this day.
We will learn what it means to improvise, create rhythm, describe instrument sounds, and discover how musical ‘cooking’ makes the sounds of jazz so fun!
Your kids will learn about the basic concepts of Jazz and its history. All participants will receive an official Jazz Forum Arts Diploma in the mail after the program finishes together with a bonus gift for the parents!
The Jitterbugs Winter Series musical program starts on Sat, Feb 20th, and will be held completely online via Zoom. All classes will be presented by Jazz educator and musician Matt Buttermann.
Recommended age for participating kids is 4-9 years old.
