Isabella Mendes & Flavio Lira Duo: Free Virtual Concert LIVE

Downtown Music at Grace launches its 33^rd season of free, weekly concerts at noon with the Isabella Mendes & Flavio Lira Duo, performing in a live broadcast on September 9 as part of White Plains JazzFest 2020.  Brazilian-born pianist, singer and songwriter Isabella Mendes has been praised by critic Owen McNally for her “effervescent signature sound” (Jazz Corridor, WNPR.org), informed by the artist’s background in Brazilian jazz, bossa nova, and classical piano. The September 9 program features Mendes’s own compositions and those of bassist, composer and producer Flavio Lira.  Lira’s wide-ranging music draws on Brazilian, Cuban, and Columbian traditions as well as his knowledge of jazz and Caribbean music.
