INVITING THE MUSE: A ‘GRAND TOUR’ OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Inviting the Muse: A ‘Grand Tour’ of Artistic Expression” by Lynne Wesolowski at the Harrison Public Library, Halperin Building, 2 Bruce Avenue, Harrison, NY on view June 5-30. Meet the Artist on June 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
There are many expressive options in the creative arts. Rather than concentrate on one medium, I enjoy working with different techniques and materials. Watercolor, acrylics, collage, mixed-media, encaustics, alcohol inks and monoprinting are represented.
Texture and color is important in my work. I like to incorporate different materials, making something new. Looking just a bit differently at the everyday brings out unseen — and very interesting — elements. All artists want their work to stand out from others, and Water Media and Mixed Media give me the opportunity to make artwork with my imprint on it. I am doubly fortunate — to be able to create work AND to be able to share it with others.
I was born and raised in White Plains, New York, and discovered art later in my life. I’ve been associated with The Art Society of Old Greenwich and The Mamaroneck Artist’s Guild. I am currently a member of The Scarsdale Art Association, and The Fort Myers Beach Art Association, where I participate in member exhibits and outdoor shows in New York and Florida.”
The exhibit may be viewed Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am to 9pm; Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 9:30am to 5:30pm. For info call the Library at 914/835-0324 or see www.harrisonpl.org.
