Invisi(bilty), a Work in Progress and Talkback with Playwright in Residence Nikki Brake-Sillá
Nikki Brake-Sillá will read excerpts from her work in progress “Invisi(bility)” which strives to illuminate race as a phenotypic construct. The play brings disability into conversation with the current state of a “post” racial America when Gabriela Johnson, a Black attorney with Crohn’s disease and lupus, argues for Blackness to be included amongst the list of disabilities covered in the Americans with Disabilities Act. Join Nikki as she shares her work and invites the audience for feedback.
