Innovators of the Renaissance: The Architecture of Filippo Brunelleschi & Andrea Palladio

Innovators of the Renaissance: The Architecture of Filippo Brunelleschi & Andrea Palladio

We can learn about ourselves from great architecture!  Acclaimed architects Dale Laurin and Anthony Romeo speak on “Innovators of the Renaissance: The Architecture of Filippo Brunelleschi & Andrea Palladio.”  (Note: Brunelleschi’s Dome: how a Rennaisance genius reinvented architecture, by Ross King, was an award winning bestseller.) This thrilling, richly illustrated presentation is based on Aesthetic Realism, founded by poet and esteemed educator Eli Siegel, who stated this principle, new in the history of art and life: “All beauty is a making one of opposites, and the making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves.” The beauty and also the meaning for our lives now of this great architecture will come alive for all who attend!  An unforgettalbe study of the art and lives of these two affecting men of the Renaissance.  Not to be missed!

Anthony Romeo, AIA, Aesthetic Realism Associate, is Director of Design and Management at the NYC Dept.of Design + Construction (DDC). Dale Laurin, RA, Aesthetic Realism Consultant, was a Team Leader at DDC. Both have taught architectural history at City University of New York (CUNY) College of Technology & havegiven architecture talks at many public libraries in the NYC area, the Italian Cultural Institute (NJ), AthensInternational Conference on Architecture, & the not-for-profit Aesthetic Realism Foundation in New York City.
