Imaginary Creatures (Early Release Youth Workshop)

Have you ever imagined a world where flying pigs soar through the sky or half-horse, half-whale creatures glide through the ocean? In this playful and imaginative workshop, young artists will dream up fantastical new creatures that don’t exist in reality! We’ll start by reading Scranimals by Jack Prelutsky for inspiration, then each student will design their own “Scranimal”—a brand-new species created by blending two different animals. But the fun doesn’t stop there! We’ll also collaborate on an exciting surprise drawing activity, where students will mix and match different creature parts to create something wildly unexpected. This hands-on, interactive session encourages creativity, collaboration, and outside-the-box thinking. Get ready to let your imagination run wild as we bring these whimsical creatures to life!
