Gluck’s most beloved opera, “Orfeo ed Euridice,” elegantly composed in what he called “noble simplicity,” will tell the tale.  Join us!

About the Ensemble:
The Hudson Valley Singers, praised by The New York Times as being “the most ambitious” chorus, perform in Manhattan and Westchester. The Singers are a semi-professional choir under the direction of Eugene Sirotkine, who for ten years was the Metropolitan Opera’s Assistant Conductor and Assistant Chorus Master.

The Singers gave a rare 2008 performance of Robert Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri at The New York Society for Ethical Culture. Nielsen’s Hymnus Amoris, presented at Theatre Barrio, and Honegger’s La Danse des Morts, performed at Ethical Culture, are from a repertoire that includes works by Victoria, Rameau, Purcell, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Dvorak, and Kodaly. The group has performed internationally in Costa Rica, Hungary and the Netherlands. In March of 2011, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater was reprised at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. HVS gave the 2015 world premiere of Cantata for The Children of Terezin by Mary Ann Joyce-Walter under the patronage of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic at the Czech National Building NYC.
