Hudson Valley Music Club March Professional Concert** CANCELLED

On Monday, March 23, at 1:00 PM, the Hudson Valley Music Club will present a concert by the acclaimed violinist Itamar Zorman, with piano accompanist Euntaek Kim. Mr. Zorman will perform the Chaconne from Bach’s Sonata in D minor for unaccompanied violin, Ravel’s Sonata for violin and piano, and Franck’s Sonata for violin and piano in A major. He has performed for the club in the past and we are excited to welcome him back.

Itamar Zorman is one of the most soulful, evocative artists of his generation, distinguished by his emotionally gripping performances and gift for musical storytelling. Since his emergence with the top prize at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition, he has wowed audiences all over the world with breathtaking style, causing one critic to declare him a “young badass who’s not afraid of anything.” His “youthful intensity” and “achingly beautiful” sound shine through in every performance, earning him the title of the “virtuoso of emotions. Mr. Zorman has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Mariinsky Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, KBS Symphony Seoul, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, German Radio Philharmonic, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Kremerata Baltica, RTE National Symphony Orchestra (Dublin) and American Symphony. He has worked with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Michael Tilson-Thomas among others. Described as a “poet of the violin”, Itamar Zorman is also a committed chamber player. Born in Tel-Aviv to a family of musicians, Mr. Zorman received his Master of Music from The Juilliard School. He is currently on faculty at the Eastman School of Music. He plays on a 1734 Guarneri del Gesù, from the collection of Yehuda Zisapel.
Hailed by The New York Times as, “nimble” and “colorful,” South Korean pianist and conductor Euntaek Kim has emerged as one of the most promising talents of his generation. Mr. Kim began his piano lessons at the mere age of three and was admitted to the preparatory division of the Korean National University of Arts when he was nine years old. At twelve, he took his first conducting lesson and gave his first public piano recital in Seoul, presented by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation. A year later, Mr. Kim emigrated to the United States to begin piano studies at The Juilliard Pre-College Division. Mr. Kim holds the Bachelor and Master of Music decrees in piano performance from The Juilliard School, and the Artist Diploma from the Yale School of Music.
A reception will be held after the concert where the audience can meet the artists and enjoy refreshments.
