Hudson Valley Music Club March Professional Concert

On Monday, March 27, at 1:00 PM, the Hudson Valley Music Club will present its March Professional Concert, featuring Peter Seidenberg, cello, and Hélène Jeanney, piano. They will perform Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 5, Opus 102 No.2, Errki-Sven Tuür’s “Dedication” 1996, and Rachmaninoff’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, Opus 19.
Peter Seidenberg received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory, graduating from both schools with the highest honors.
Mr. Seidenberg has played in major halls throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. He made his solo debut with the Chicago Symphony, and has since appeared as soloist with many orchestras including Century Orchestra of Osaka, New American Chamber Orchestra, De Paul Chamber Orchestra, New York Chamber Soloists, and the Eastman-Rochester Philharmonic. He was founding member of the critically acclaimed Elements Quartet which created groundbreaking commissioning projects involving over 30 composers. He has collaborated with members of the Cleveland, Tokyo, Juilliard and Emerson Quartets and has participated in the Marlboro, Aspen, Caramoor, Casals and Norfolk festivalsCurrently, Peter Seidenberg is the cellist for the Oracle Trio, the Queen’s Chamber Band, and the New York Chamber Soloists. Mr. Seidenberg is a resident of Hastings on Hudson.
Helene Jeanney, born in Paris, graduated from the Paris Conservatory at the age of 17 with first Prize in Piano and Chamber Music. She then went on with a Fulbright Scholarship to study at Indiana University in Bloomington and also holds a Professional Studies Degree from the Juilliard School.
As a recitalist, she has performed throughout Europe, Chile, Australia, and the U.S. She has been a soloist with the Paris Conservatory Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, and the Indianapolis Symphony.
Helene regularly performs at Weill Hall with her Chamber Music group “Elysium”, is also part of a “Piano Duo” with David Oei. She also appears frequently with the New York Philharmonic Ensembles at Merkin Concert Hall, and has played in Recitals with former Concertmaster of the NY Philharmonic, Glenn Dicterow.
