Week-long Festival to include music of great Germanic composers — Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms — as well as masters from other lands

Hoff-Barthelson Music School is proud to present the HB Cello Virtuosi, featuring members of the School’s gifted cello faculty. Cellists Michael Finckel, Nicole Johnson, Erich Schoen-René and Peter Seidenberg along with pianists Hélène Jeanney and Eileen Buck perform a concert of works by Brahms and Schumann. Included on the program are Brahms’ Cello Sonata No. 1, e minor, Opus 38 and Cello Sonata No. 2 in F Major, Opus 99; and Schumann’s Five Pieces in Folk Style, Op. 102 and Fantasy Pieces, Op. 73. The concert takes place Wednesday, March 14 at 7:30 pm in the School’s auditorium. Admission is free of charge. An event not to be missed!

This special event is one of the many offerings taking place during the School’s Spanning the Centuries Music Festival, March 10-18th.

The Festival, featuring music of great Germanic composers – Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms – as well as masters from other lands, includes 9 student recitals, a faculty concert by the School’s Cello Virtuosi, a lecture on the life and works of Beethoven, presented by Michael Boriskin, Artistic Director of the Copland House, and instrumental and choral ensemble concerts.
