Description
Seamus Heaney said that in poems, small things can bear the weight of anything. In this craft class we will explore the power of the image to do heavy lifting in poems, i.e., embodying the complex thoughts and emotions surrounding human experience, whether in one’s interior life or in the world. We will look closely at how some master poets have employed the image and find strategies for our own work.
Please make sure to read our course policies page regarding workshop conduct and logistics before registering for any class at HVWC. Scholarship information will be available for this class in April and applications are due on May 15, 2022.
