Artist’s Statement:
Body of work -investigating the history of the land where the Kensico Reservoir sits, and the series of communities – including current residents, workers who provided the labor for construction, the residents of the village of Kensico – the remains of which are submerged under the water, and exploring the indigenous beginnings of this area of land. Researching into the history of this large project, many of the artworks have resulted from putting together pieces of information; family history, history of the cultures and peoples who have lived on the land used for the reservoir, a communities need for water and its own way of creating migration.
