Artist’s Statement:

Art is my great adventure. As a visual artist, painter and photographer I experience the greatest pleasure viewing the world around me. Additionally, my emotional life and imagination impact on my photography. My art education, both undergraduate and graduate work as well as visits to The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, private galleries, and other innovative venues have taught me about the arts of the past and provide inspiration that influences my work. I’m drawn to urban environments, especially New York City, where people, objects and nature are captured using my camera.

When the digital revolution arrived I expanded my skills and refined my photographs. I added a variety of creative techniques that were enhanced by drawing on my images using Adobe Photoshop. In the past few years I’ve used a tablet, the Wacom Cintiq Pro which allowed for more direct artistic development of my work. I continue to learn and grow, using these techniques that help me achieve an expanded reality, I’m delighted by the surprises, the magic and the fantasy that emerge from my everyday experiences with my art.

My exhibition “Fotofantasmics” presents my vision and it is my hope that these photographs will connect with my viewers and help them to see their own world in different ways. Art can bring change.
