Harrison Public Library presents “Dreaming of El Nido,” by Erwin Ong
Exhibition is on display June 2, 2024 to June 28, 2024.
Gallery is open to the public during regular library hours.
Artist’s Statement:
This exhibit is a collection of drawings, cardboard sculptures, and digital artwork inspired by a childhood vacation in the Palawan province of the Philippines. I love the patterns that are all around in nature, and there is a certain meditative experience in making the same marks on paper over and over. I am also inspired by prolific artists who made work in different mediums, like Keith Haring, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Alexander Calder.
About the Artist:
Erwin Ong is an illustrator and muralist based in White Plains, New York. His bright and happy character-based creations are inspired by animals, plants, and all things aquatic. Learn more about his universe at aduckamuck.com or on instagram at @duckamuck.
