Artist’s Statement:
My work reflects my love of nature and the outdoors. These are the sources of my artistic inspiration and expression.
I have tried to capture the interplay between light and shadow, color, and the mood of a place rather than specific detail.
It is my hope that my paintings will reveal to the observer the calm, tranquility and solitude of the natural world.
About the Artist:
Silvia Gesing is a Rye-based artist who specializes in landscapes in pastel and oil.
Although largely self-taught, over the years she has taken many courses in watercolor, acrylics and pastel.
She has exhibited in many shows where her works have won many prizes and can be found in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
