Harmony Zhu, piano
Pianist Harmony Zhu is a recipient of FOMC’s YCA Performance Award. This brilliant, 19-year-old artist has been hailed as “a deeply musical soul and nimble technician [with] probing sensitivity.” (Chicago Tribune)
She was First Prize Winner of the 2021 YCA Susan Wadsworth International Auditions and a 2024 Gilmore Young Artist. She has appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit orchestras.
Her program will consist of works by Frédéric Chopin, whom she has named as one of her favorite composers. “His music has always been extremely dear to me. It is so profound and noble, but it also really tears at your heart and resonates with the human experience on a deeply personal level,” she said.
Concertgoers are invited to meet the artist at a post-show reception. Tickets are $40 or $35 with the purchase of four or more tickets in a FlexSub subscription good at any of FOMC’s spring concerts. Those under age 18 are admitted free.
