Gallery Talk with Artist Courtney M. Leonard

Join artist Courtney M. Leonard for an in-gallery discussion of her practice and work, including her BREACH series on view in Rivers Flow / Artists Connect. Constructed from ceramic fish-basket forms and oyster shells collected from the Hudson River, BREACH questions how a culture sustains itself when its way of life is threatened. The series is part of an ongoing research project that brings to the fore critical issues that the Shinnecock community faces, while at the same time highlighting the policies that obstruct sustainable practices.
