Gabriela Burdsall & William Ruiz Morales Dance Performance
Sat. Sept. 2022 | 4PM
Current KinoSaito artists-in-residence Burdsall and Morales, who originate from Cuba, reside in
Miami, and perform worldwide, will present a recently developed contemporary dance and
experimental theater piece at 4 pm in the art center’s 80-seat Theater. Burdsall’s practice unfolds at the intersection of dance, theater, and visual art, and is often influenced by the legacy of her grandmother, Lorna Burdsall, who was a pioneer in Cuba’s modern dance. Morales creates choreographed performances that integrate sound, movement, text, and installation, and reflect universally shared experiences that he transforms into poetic moments. Both artists earned their Bachelors at the University of Arts of Cuba/Instituto Superior de Arte (I.S.A.), with Burdsall’s degree in Contemporary Dance and Morales’ degree in Theater Sciences.
Performance will be held on September 10 as part of KinoSaito’s One Year Anniversary Celebration
