From Paper to Glass: Firing Thin Folded Forms

In this four-day intensive, you’ll will learn folding techniques to generate complex plaster molds for glass casting. We will investigate origami techniques to corrugate paper surfaces. You will learn how to cast both thick and thin pieces. We will discuss and investigate how heat affects the final outcome of the pieces. Students will leave the class with 3 or 4 test castings, one larger piece informed by their tests, and one Mulberry paper sculpture.
