Life Sentences
(In Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles)

The story of a man whose very being embodies the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. When his Jewish mother learns that her Arab husband was conducting a slew of terrorist bombings in the 1960s, Momi, also known as Shlomo, and his sister were moved to an ultra-orthodox Jewish community in Montreal, Canada. When as adults, the kids learn about their father they confront their roots in different ways – one becoming ultra-orthodox, the other Muslim. Directed by Nurit Kedar & Yaron Shani. A Q&A with one of the directors will follow the screening. Sarah Lawrence is officially partnered with the Other Israel Film Festival, which is now in its 8thyear.
