Fiction Reading: An Evening with David Means & Amitava Kumar

David Means will read from his highly anticipated short story collection, Instructions for a Funeral (March, 2019). He has written several award-winning short story collections, including Assorted Fire Events, The Spot, and The Secret Goldfish. He is also the author of the 2016 novel Hystopia, which was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize.

Amitava Kumar will read from his novel Immigrant, Montana. He has also written several works of literary nonfiction, including the prize-winning book A Foreigner Carrying in the Crook of His Arm a Tiny Bomb.

Both Means & Kumar teach at Vassar. Novelist Lauren Acampora will introduce the writers and lead the Q&A after the reading.

Tickets are $10 general admission; $5 for HVWC members / students / seniors.
