FESTIVAL FINALE: ST. LUKE’S CHAMBER ENSEMBLE
The St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, joined by pianist Natasha Paremski, delight with a Beethoven Septet and a rarely performed Dohnányi Sextet.
Celebrate with the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble as they enjoy a romp through Beethoven’s supremely joyful and youthful masterpiece, the Septet. Joining the Ensemble for the rarely performed Dohnányi Sextet, from 1935, with its unusual instrumental combination and echoes of Brahms, Strauss and early jazz, is pianist Natasha Paremski, last heard at Caramoor in a memorable performance on Opening Night 2007.
Program: Dohnányi: Sextet for piano, violin, viola, cello, clarinet & horn in C, Op. 37; Beethoven: Septet in E Flat, Op. 20.
Concert Al Fresco tickets are also available for this concert. Introduce your family to Caramoor and enjoy the sounds of the concert (no view of stage) from the Picnic Lawns. $10 per person; all ages welcome.
