Festinema Junior (French Film Festival for Children): Les Quatre saisons de Léon (The Four Seasons of Leon)
We are pleased to partner with Alliance Française de Westchester to present four French “shorts” for children ages 4 – 6 years: The Winter of Leon , The Spring of Melie, The Summer of Boniface, The Autumn of Pougne. From winter to autumn, strange things are happening in the little kingdom of Escampette, as related in these beautifully animated tales! The four 26-minute films can be seen independently of each other, and were selected because they transcend language barriers, allowing all audience members the ability to understand and enjoy the stories.
Now in its fifth year, Festinema Junior was inspired by a program developed in France by Ministry of Education in order to discover, understand and promote the cinema amongst young people. Besides the Francophonie celebration, Festinema Junior also aspires to make cinema an educational option, familiarize young audiences to French speaking independent cinema and teach young people to develop critical thinking by film analysis.
The Alliance Française de Westchester is part of a worldwide organization that encourages an appreciation for all aspects of the French language and Francophone cultures.
