Exhibition: Scenes of Manhattan

Manhattan has been my home for more than five decades and with these paintings I have tried to capture the several sides of the city. Many of the works in this show were created specifically for this exhibition, including: Times Square in snow, parade for US Women’s Soccer Team, July 4 fireworks, 33rd and 7th at dusk, night at the San Gennaro Festival, the Gapstow Bridge during winter, and the R train to Forest Hills.

I am drawn to specific – and yet universal – observations of people and places. I have developed a technique using colored inks and oil pastels that produce astonishing colors. The vivid hues of the works reveal the soul and character and make intriguing what at first glance might seem to be an ordinary scene.

I hope you will have the chance to see my works. I think that they will bring you memories and thoughts of New York City.

PLEASE NOTE: On Friday’s and Saturday’s, the hours of exhibition are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
