Ellen Bass – Live Poetry Reading

Please join us as Ellen Bass reads from her most recent collection “Like a Beggar.” Ms. Bass’ work has appeared in hundreds of magazines and literary journals including The New Yorker, The Atlantic and The New Republic.

Dana Jennings, reviewing “Like A Beggar” in the New York Times says:

Ellen Bass’s new poetry collection, “Like a Beggar” (Copper Canyon), pulses with sex, humor and compassion. Ms. Bass takes her cues as a poet, and as a person, from Rilke, whom she quotes to open “Beggar”: “But those dark, deadly, devastating ways,/how do you bear them, suffer them?/— I praise.” Her poetry, and this book in particular, fairly bursts with such praise.

The reading will be at 4pm, followed by question and answer, reception and book signing.
