Edward Arron and Jeewon Park

The Emelin welcomes cellist Edward Arron and pianist Jeewon Park; world-renowned musicians, co-artistic directors at the Clark Institute in MA, husband and wife. The critically-acclaimed couple bring their passion, inventiveness and dazzling technique together to perform a rich and varied program from a set of variations by Beethoven to “Le Grand Tango,” a single-movement piece by Astor Piazzolla that melds traditional tango rhythms with jazz-inspired syncopation. The afternoon also features the subtle harmonies, shimmering piano textures, and folk-like melodies of Enrique Granados’ poetic Two Tonadillas. Finally, the pair will play two sonatas, the first by Beethoven, and the second by César Franck, considered one of the finest sonatas for violin ever written and which will be performed on cello and piano.

Ticket holders enjoy a complimentary glass of wine during the performance, as well as a moderated Q&A with the artists to learn more about the works they perform.
