Downtown Music at Grace Free Concert: Wednesday, April 10, 12:00 to 1:00 PM: Soprano Abigail Fischer and Pianist Susan Ellinger
Soprano Abigail Fischer and Pianist Susan Ellinger. Writing about soprano Abigail Fischer in the New York Times, Zachary Woolfe notes: “With her dramatic tumble of red hair and cello-mello voice, Ms. Fischer sings with a passionate restraint that has no equal in her generation. You didn’t want her to stop”. She is joined by Susan Ellinger, a pianist praised for her “refined, poised and singular vision,” who has performed as both a soloist and chamber musician in concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium, Caramoor and Tanglewood. The program includes a selection of Brahms late piano works, amidst the luxurious expressionism of Berg’s 7 early songs. A Downtown Music debut.
This concert has been made possible, in part, with the generous support of White Plains Hospital. A member of the Montefiore Health System, White Plains Hospital is the hub of advanced care in the Hudson Valley region.
