Domestic Arrangements by Joe Winter

Domestic Arrangements is exhibition of recent works by New York-based artist and former Sarah Lawrence visiting professor in sculpture Joe Winter. Winter presents works employing two distinct but joined material forms: cast ceramic and quilted fabric. Each mode investigates the aesthetics and forms of the contemporary American home by mimicking commonplace features. The works reflect an exploration of mass-produced materials that replicate the look of the natural or handcrafted, and the shifting values of class, skill, taste, or utility assigned to them.
