Digital Art Intensive: Intro to 2D Animation & Animating Toons
Youth Ages 8+
Bring your drawings to life—frame by frame! Ever wondered how your favorite animated characters jump, dance, and tell stories on screen? This exciting digital art camp introduces young artists to the fundamentals of 2D animation, blending classic techniques with modern digital tools. In this hands-on course, students will:
- Learn the principles of animation, including squash & stretch, anticipation, and timing.
- Explore frame-by-frame animation and motion techniques to create smooth, expressive movement.
- Work with Procreate Dreams, the sister app of Procreate, to animate original characters and bring them to life!
With expert guidance, campers will develop their own short animations, gaining essential skills in character motion, storytelling, and digital artistry.
Supervised Lunch:
Beyond digital projects, students will enjoy a supervised lunch hour filled with creative activities, including free draw, gallery tours, and games in the courtyard.
- Students must bring their own lunch (no peanut products, please).
- Doors open at 8:50 AM each day—please plan accordingly.
- All artwork will be created digitally on iPads or computers.
