Deadly SINema

Deadly SINema
June 23, 7:30 pm Tickets: $7 (KMA and JBFC members), $12 (nonmembers)

The seven deadly sins have been sneaking their way into film since the advent of the medium. We seldom stop to think about the lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride on screen, except when the capital vices are presented clear as day.

With a selection of new and old, charming and challenging, “Deadly SINema” presents an array of films you’ll never see the same way again. Jacob Burns Film Center screens the series in conjunction with “The Seven Deadly Sins,” a regional constellation of exhibitions by the seven member institutional partners of the Fairfield Westchester Museum Alliance, including the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Bruce Museum, Hudson River Museum, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, Katonah Museum of Art, Neuberger Museum of Art, and Wave Hill.

The Katonah Museum of Art’s sin, Gluttony, kicks off the series with a screening of The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie. A Q & A to follows, with artist Emilie Clark and Jack Algiere, Four Season Farm Director at Stone Barns.
