CONTEMPORARY DOCUMENTARY PORTRAITS BY GRETA CORENS
Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Contemporary Documentary Portraits” by Greta Corens at the Harrison Public Library, Halperin Building, 2 Bruce Avenue, Harrison, NY on view May 6 to June 1; meet the artist May 12 from 2 to 4pm.
In Greta Corens’ portrait paintings, figurative and contemporary meet. Her classically trained drawing skill expresses mastery in a design-cultivated, graphic, and sophisticated sense of style and color in a range of traditional and digital mediums. Corens draws spirit and soul in expressive, elegant and confident strokes. She is drawn to study faces and personality translating in endearing or dramatic imagery in a feminine realistic figurative style. Corens takes pride in perfect resemblance of the model in her portraiture art.
Greta Corens was a sought after fashion designer in New York City and she has taught the principles of design in Westchester, NY institutes. After an MFA in Architecture, Art and Design from the prestigious St. Lucas Institute of Architecture in Brussels, she studied Art at the Antwerp Royal Art Academy in Belgium. As President of the Reilly League of Artists, NY she held master classes.
Greta has exhibited her paintings in New York and Connecticut galleries, as well as www.ContemporaryGalleriesOnline.com and www.LightSpaceTime.com. She has won many awards and prizes.
