CONCERT: The Hanamizuki Choir

LIVE CONCERT

The Hanamizuki Choir will perform live music accompanied on piano. Songs include Moon River, A Spoonful of Sugar, Torna a Surriento, and Japanese songs Akatombo & Chiisai Aki.

THE HANAMIZUKI CHOIR – Music loving women from Japan residing in Westchester founded Hanamizuki in 1983. They named the group Hanamizuki, a dogwood tree in Japanese, as a symbol of New York’s beauty. The group rehearses in Greenville Community Church in Scarsdale under the guidance of Aya Shimada as the music director and conductor, and the pianist, Keiko Hayashida. In order to enhance cultural relationship between U.S. and Japan, Hanamizuki has been performing in concerts at local schools, churches, and retirement homes in Westchester and Fairfield counties.

Free and open to the public. (SNOW DATE: Sunday, January 29, 2017.)

Refreshments compliments of the Friends of the Harrison Public Library.
