CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT: Angelica Presents “Pilgrimage: Sacred Journeys” in Westchester this June


Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, will present Pilgrimage: Sacred Journeys in Irvington, NY on Saturday, June 3rd, 7:30 PM. The program features medieval pieces from collections in sacred places along pilgrimage routes, such as the Codex Calixtinus from the Cathedral of Santiago in Compostela. Also featured are contemporary works: Zebulon M. Highben’s “And Miriam Sang,” a haunting celebration of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt; Ēriks Ešenvalds’s “Stars,” a dreamlike journey to heaven, with special effects; and others. Joining Angelica are guest artists Rex Benincasa on percussion and psaltery and Tom Chess on oud and ney.  Suggested Donation: $20; $10 seniors & students. Tickets sold at the door.
