Collage with Abstract Patterns

In this workshop, students will create an abstract design with magazine papers, patterns and text on a Bristol paper substrate. To create a dramatic effect, we will only use black, white and red colored papers that will then be cut into squares or rectangles. Students will proceed to organize the papers into a geometric pattern and play with arrangement and layout to further engage the eye. The workshop will include a demonstration, tips on collage technique and individual guidance. In advance of the workshop, students will receive an email with an introduction to the workshop and how to create painted papers for the class. All levels are welcome to attend.
