“Cloud Wanderings with Wang Mansheng” – Exhibition Opening and Artist Talk

Opening exhibition reception and Artist Talk by Wang Mansheng, Saturday, June 11 from 1-4pm, open to the public. RSVP requested.

At 2:00 pm Wang Mansheng will present the thoughts, history, techniques and materials used in his paintings and calligraphy in the exhibition Cloud Wanderings with Wang Mansheng. He will also discuss the philosophy and evolution of the term Cloud Wanderings and explain his art materials, which combine both Chinese traditional tools and unique, self-crafted materials.

This exhibition presents paintings and calligraphy in the Chinese tradition by Wang Mansheng that explore the spirit of the natural world and venture into contemporary meaning. Divided into three parts, the show includes landscape paintings and calligraphy in Guild Hall, colorful paintings of lotus in the Hays Gallery, and a selection of album paintings and artist’s tools in the central Goelet Gallery.
