Clarissa Sincemo

Thursdays in February enjoy the dynamic Clarissa Sinceno live at Alvin & Friends in the main dining room from 6:30 to 10 pm. A Harlem native, Clarissa was inspired by Jessye Norman, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Mahalia Jackson, each of whom have influenced her unique style of performance. Her versatility is astonishing: At age 17, Clarissa performed at the Metropolitan Opera, but she has also performed at jazz clubs such as the Blue Note, Birdland and the Sugar Bar.  Clarissa performs as a soloist at Marble Collegiate Church, The Riverside Church in the city of New York, Ridgeway Alliance and many others around the world. Clarissa debuted as Mary in the “Nativity: A Life Story” in 2003; her stage credits include performing excerpts from “Porgy and Bess” and “Children’s Requiem” at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher and Alice Tully Hall. She has also toured with the Tony and Kennedy Award winner Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Dance Company in the production “Fondly Do We Hope . . . Fervently Do We Pray. . .” She has also recorded jingles for Master Charge and McDonalds. Clarissa released her first album, “A Spirit Sings,” in a capella.  It was followed by “Live Recording at Ridgeway” and “Simply Me”.  Clarissa is currently recording her fourth Jazz CD and continues to perform live with her band aah fro blú.
