Celebrate JUNETEENTH | Paths to Queer BIPOC Liberation | A Panel Discussion


The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center is partnering with the Newburgh LGBTQ Center to present a panel of Black LGBTQ+ national leaders and changemakers who will be discussing paths to queer BIPOC liberation in honor of the Juneteenth holiday.

Moderators of the panel:

  • Rae Leiner | Executive Director/Lead Organizer of The Newburgh LGBTQ+ Center
  • Mia Edwards | The LOFT’s Case Manager for the PROUDWST Me Program

Panelists will be:

  • Malkia Devich-Cyril is an activist, writer and public speaker on issues of digital rights, narrative power, Black liberation and collective grief. Devich-Cyril is also the founding and former Executive Director of MediaJustice — a national hub boldly advancing racial justice, rights and dignity in a digital age.
  • Kenyon Farrow is an American writer, activist, director, and educator focused on progressive racial and economic justice issues related to the LGBTQ community.
  • Dominique Morgan, Executive Director of Black & Pink National, a prison abolitionist organization dedicated to dismantling the criminal punishment system and the harms caused to LGBTQ people and people living with HIV who are affected by the system through advocacy, support, and organizing.
