June 22: Cole Quest and the City Pickers
American Roots

Cole Quest and The City Pickers are a group of New York City musicians connected by friendship and a love of bluegrass. Cole Quest, grandson of the folk icon Woody Guthrie, has brought together a collection of eclectic pickers who have gained recognition on the local scene. Performing both Quest’s original tunes as well as traditional favorites, The City Pickers bring their special brand of high-spirited talent to the stage, with upbeat, knee slapping energy and a high lonesome sound that’ll leave you wanting more.

After recording their debut album at NYC’s renowned Magic Shop studio, they’re ramping up for a summer 2016 release. Having shared bills with acts such as Lucinda Williams, Parker Millsap, and Billy Strings & Don Julin, you can catch them playing all over the northeast region.

Other performances in this series:

July 20 – Jake Hertzog Band
Jazz
A true dual jazz-rock musician whose unique technique and approach to modern jazz guitar has gained him international regard and critical acclaim, Hertzog most recently headlined at the world famous Blue Note Jazz club in New York, and has performed extensively across the US and Europe.

August 3 – Ethos Percussion Group
Contemporary Classical
Audiences of all ages will be thrilled by America’s premier percussion quartet presenting an energetic potpourri of musical genres from around the globe. Landmark works by John Cage, Steve Reich and Philip Glass are electrified by their unique style, and followed by highly intoxicating rhythms from Guinea and Calcutta.
