“CapaTalk” – The impact of photographer Robert Capa and Life Magazine on visual culture after WWII

Join us as we invite Nadya Bair, historian of photography, mass media, and global visual culture, to share her research and lead a discussion about the impact of photographer Robert Capa and Life Magazine on visual culture after WWII.

Nadya Bair’s first book, The Decisive Network: Magnum Photos and the Postwar Image Market, received the 2021 PROSE Award in Media and Cultural Studies. Her current project on Cornell Capa and the International Center of Photography was awarded an NEH Fellowship for 2023-2024. She is Assistant Professor of Art History at Hamilton College.
