“CALLIGRAPHIC ART” BY MARY PADILLA

Meet the Artist:  October 12 from 2 to 4pm.  Dr. Padilla is a Veterinarian practicing in Armonk, NY.  She also teaches the Alexander Technique.  Come see her great art work.

Dr. Padilla’s art work makes use of the Asian line, materials, and monochromatic convention of writing. Abstracting in a stylistically Western way from Japanese calligraphy, which was itself derived from ideographs, in a sense reverses that process – these images return by allusion to the original meaning of the words in both form and concept.
