Call for Westchester Writers
Wanted: Westchester Writers for
NEUTRAL GROUND OR BATTLEGROUND? How Westchester struggled during the American Revolution
Tutti Bravi Productions, Inc., in collaboration with the New Rochelle Council on the Arts,
issues a call for Westchester writers to submit original monologues featuring a
Westchester person, place or event on the above theme, to be included in a
theatrical production by the Company.
The monologues should be a maximum of 10 minutes long, and
should be submitted digitally, no later than July 31, 2025.
Up to ten finalists will be selected from the entries, to be used in a production in the fall of 2025.
If the writer wishes to perform his/her own monologue in the production, the submission must
be accompanied by a video sample showing his/her performance abilities.
Guidelines for Entrants
1 – Writer must be a resident of Westchester.
2 – Entries must be in the form of a monologue based on the theme: Neutral Ground or
Battleground? How Westchester struggled during the American Revolution, and be
no longer than 10 minutes in length.
3 – The subject of the piece shall be tied to the Revolutionary Era in Westchester in some way:
- Battles (e.g. White Plains, Pell’s Point, Edgar’s Lane, Pines Bridge, etc.)
- Fighters (e.g. The Cow-boys, The Skinners, Sheldon’s Dragoons, Peter Post, Deborah Sampson, enslaved patriot Nathaniel Franklin, etc.)
- Spies (e.g. loyalist Ann Bates, patriot Enoch Crosby, etc.
- Entrants require no previous publishing experience. Anyone who enjoys writing and has an interesting topic that fits the above guidelines is eligible.

plus a short bio. Reminder: If you wish to perform your own piece, please include
a video sample of your acting/reading abilities.
