Bernhard Haaks Quartet

On Friday, July 18th Roscoe’s Room welcomes the Bernhard Haaks Quartet. Percussionist Haaks, a native of Bruckmuehl, Germany, has studied African drumming in Ghana as played at jazz clubs in and around New York City with his Blue Moon Ensemble. Playing with him are Hardin Butcher on trumpet (lead trumpet for the Artie Shaw Orchestra and Cecilia Coleman Big Band, he toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra from 2003 to 2011), Pete Levin on piano (a jazz and pop keyboardist/arranger who has played with everyone from Paul Simon and Annie Lennox to Miles Davis, Gil Evans and Jimmy Giuffre) and Don Miller on bass. (Miller has traveled the world performing and recording with a diverse range of artists, from Dizzy Gillespie and Tony Bennett to Britney Spears.)
