Bel Canto Showcase: Daniel Mobbs, bass-baritone
American bass-baritone Daniel Mobbs, a mainstay of Caramoor opera since his 2001 debut, has won praise with major opera companies all over the world for his “rich, mellifluous voice” (The New York Times), “lightning-quick presence and bright, clean sound” (Opera News), and “elegant, cavernous tones” (Variety). His first solo recital in the Festival includes a sparkling rarity, a set of songs composed by Schubert in Italian for bel-canto bass.
Songs by Mozart, Schubert and Wagner, plus ensembles with the Bel Canto Young Artists.
Caramoor is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah, New York 10536 in Westchester County, 40 miles northeast of New York City. Visit Caramoor.
