From the The Löwenmensch figurine and the Venus of Willlendorf (both made approximately 40,000 years ago) to the contemporary works of such figures as Paige Bradley and Damien Hirst lies a vast and remarkable tradition—Sculpture.
In this six-week online course, we’ll journey through time to explore some of the greatest sculptors—and sculptures—in existence. The Bust of Nefertiti (1345 BCE), The Terracotta Army (c. 210 BCE), Laocoön and His Sons (2nd C. BCE), Picasso’s Guitarof 1912, Marisol’s Women and Dog (1963-64), and Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate (2006) are just a few of the significant works we’ll examine.
