Barynya
World-renowned Russian music, dance and song ensemble Barynya is the premier Russian folk ensemble outside of Russia. Besides cabaret, Barynya will present a selection of their traditional Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Jewish and Gypsy Roma dancing and songs at their performance at Untermyer Park.
Besides performing at the Black Tie gala at which President George H. Bush presented the Liberty Medal to Mikhail Gorbachev in 2008, Barynya has performed in some of the most prestigious cultural venues in the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia’s Constitution Hall, the Smithsonian and the United Nations.
This definitely is another “don’t miss” Untermyer Performing Arts Council World Fest 2016 event under the stars!
The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to continuing the tradition of Minnie and Samuel Untermyer, bringing musical entertainment to our treasure of a park and the people of Yonkers.
Our events are admission free and open to the public. Please bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets, as seating is not provided.
